We are not a nation of drunken louts, racially prejudiced morons or football hooligans. As you know, the "media" only report sensationalist headlines. Neither are we all Lady Diana lovers, nor do we all speak like "Thunderbirds' Lady Penelope" or Batman's "Albert", and NOBODY in the UK has ever spoken like Dick van Dyke's chimney sweep!
Our beer is not warm - draught ale must be served at room temperature (~19C), lagers and bottles can be cooler. Fish and Chips is the second most popular take-away meal, curries are the most popular and McDonalds is way down the list.
Yanks are always welcome in the U.K, as long as they don't wear Tartan suits and pretend to speak with an English accent.
