The Showdown on Ted Kennedy's Senate seat

The controversial bill to allow the governor to make an interim appointment to the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by Ted Kennedy’s death will cross an initial legislative threshold today, as the Legislature’s Election Law Committee holds a public hearing on the measure. The hearing, being held in the largest auditorium in the Statehouse, is expected to draw those outraged over a perceived flip-flop by Democrats. Laws mean nothing to democrats, they change them at will to suit their needs and wants.
If these idiots couldn't think far enough into the future to see that this could happen, why would anyone want to let them run healthcare?

  1. Didn't a Democratic legislature in MA change the law to what it is now, in an effort to stop Mitt Romney from appointing a Republican to the seat now held by Ketchup Kerry?

  2. You are SO right about laws...the hypocrisy of the Dems is breathtaking, isn't it?
In Mass., it'll be real interesting to see much outrage...
You think they'll name this hideous nightmare ruination of our health care KENNEDY HEALTH CARE? It'd be fittin', come to think of it.

  3. Kennedy had the original law changed to suit his purpose--and - just before his death- moved to have it changed back to what it originally was!!! -
There are those like the Kennedy group-who believe that the Constitution is invalid for them--they are above it!!!

  4. I don't know why they're worried about it LV. The way the health care bill is going it may be well into next year before anything is ready for a vote. Obstruction is one thing both parties agree on.

  5. Massachusetts has a passage in their Constitution that Kennedys must have final say over any political matters.

  6. Totally agree with Nickie. It was TK who originally had the law changed to keep Romney from appointing someone to fill a vacancy. Knowing he was going to his eternal damnation, he strove to change it back to its original script so a dem could be appointed to replace him.
